Our Programs & Partnerships

Clara's House Pleasant Grove is being developed as a community-based memory-care and caregiver-support initiative in Dallas, Texas. In honor of Clara D. Young, our goal is to provide compassionate care while strengthening the families and professionals who support people living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and Parkinson's disease.

01

Memory Care

The planned Clara's House home will provide specialized 24/7 care for approximately 8 to 10 residents in a smaller, home-like setting. Services are expected to include personalized care plans, meaningful activities, nutrition support, medication coordination, mobility assistance, and ongoing communication with families.

02

Respite Care

Our respite program will provide temporary support for families and unpaid caregivers who need relief, have an emergency, or need short-term assistance. Services may include short-term residential respite and structured daytime respite, subject to licensing and facility approval.

03

Weekly Family Education

Clara's House will offer ongoing weekly education sessions led by qualified healthcare, legal, financial, and community professionals, with classes available in both English and Spanish.

  • Understanding Alzheimer's, dementia, and Parkinson's disease
  • Communication and dementia-related behaviors
  • Home safety and fall prevention
  • Nutrition, medications, and daily care
  • Legal, financial, and long-term-care planning
  • Caregiver stress and self-care
  • Hospice, palliative care, and advance-care planning

These programs are intended to help families feel more informed, prepared, and supported throughout the caregiving journey.

04

Dementia-Care Workforce Development

Clara's House is also developing partnerships with community colleges, workforce organizations, and healthcare providers to create a pathway for local residents to enter and advance in healthcare careers.

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training
  • Dementia- and elder-care education
  • Work-based learning and clinical experiences
  • Potential employment opportunities
  • Advancement pathways toward LVN, RN, and other healthcare careers

05

Community Partnerships

Future partnerships may include colleges, healthcare organizations, hospitals, home-health agencies, hospice providers, faith communities, caregiver organizations, and other nonprofits. Through these partnerships, Clara's House will work to expand access to education, supportive services, healthcare careers, and future memory-care locations.

Our long-term vision is to develop a replicable nonprofit-to-nonprofit partnership model that allows communities to work together on property, programs, and specialized care.
